As soon as this Friday, railroad workers throughout the United States are planning a potential strike after union negotiations have dragged on for more than 3 years. The negotiations pertain largely to employee benefits, and if a deal is not reached by the end of September 15th, then the union will authorize a strike that economic experts say will exasperate already existing supply chain issues. While 9 of the 12 unions have reached a contract deal, 3 have not, which has spoiled any optimism that a strike can be avoided.
